- Why doesn't Dr. Beam Pro plot stresses?
- Currently Dr. Beam Pro does not require information about the section that would be required to calculate bending and shear stresses. We are currently working in that direction, and are focusing on only requesting additional information when required.

- How can I change the sign convention for the plotting of moments, shears, etc.?
- Open the appropriate scale dialog from the Plot Scales submenu of the Options menu. Now simply add a negative sign to the relevant scale value. So Simple.

- How many levels of undo does Dr. Beam support?
- Dr. Beam currently has 10 levels of undo (and re-do). This can be a simple way to sequence a presentation of a series of steps in an analysis. First, do the steps ahead of time, and then undo back to the starting configuration. For the presentation, simply replay the steps using the re-do command. If there is significant demand for additional levels of undo, we can make special accomidations. This would, however, require additional run-time memory to operate Dr. Beam Pro.

- How can I vary the cross-section along the beam?
- Currently Dr. Beam Pro only allows for a single cross-section along the entire beam. This limitation is strictly due to the interface; the solution could easily handle piece-wise, discreet, cross-section changes. We will support this feature when we devise adequate scheme for maniplating and representing a varying cross section graphically.

- How do I perform axial loading?
- Dr. Beam Pro supports axial loads using second order shape functions. Use the Solution Dialog to enable the axial solution. If you wish to have the beam stiffness degrade as the axial load increases, check that option and enter a value for the yield stess of the beam's material. Back in the main window you should now see the axial load tool bar at the top of the window. Use the load and unload buttons to apply the axial load. You may also still use the minus key to increase the compressive axial force and the plus key to decrease the compressive axial force.

- Does Dr. Beam Pro analyze pre-stressed beams?
- Not currently. Again, the major hurdle is quality interface design. We could be supporting pre-stressed beams in the near future if there is enough demand.
